OPTIONS FOR MEDIATION
Jenny currently offers the following options for mediation, provided it remains safe to meet in person:
- both parties attend the mediation in person,
- one party attends the mediation in person and the other party by video and/or tele conferencing, or
- both parties attend by video and/or tele conferencing.
It is preferable that complex or challenging matters be conducted in person. If you are unable to attend in person, or if you prefer not to, we have the capacity to conduct your mediation via video conferencing with Zoom. When using video or tele conferencing, it is preferable that the client and the legal representative are collocated. Jenny subscribes to the secure version of Zoom. It allows crystal-clear, face-to-face video, high quality screen sharing, instant messaging and computer program sharing. It provides flexibility in allowing all parties to interface at the one time or any combination of face-to-face discussion. It is very user friendly and can be accessed via a free app on an iPhone, iPad or via Microsoft on a computer. Should video conferencing not be available or reliable the mediation can be conducted very effectively by tele conferencing.
In the event of a virus scare or other event that may restrict travel, then the remote option will be our only choice. Zoom will be more than adequate should this occur.
